The oxo Good Grips compact toilet brush has the best bristles of any brush we have tested. Bristles are not everything to clean toilets, but oxo brushes are unique because they actually offer different levels of cleanliness: soft edge scrub bristles paired with gentle bowl brush fibers, wavy shapes that absorb a lot of dirt and little water. The retainer hides the brush head, but has enough air circulation to prevent mildew. The base has a hinge and slit, so it's harder to clean than a basic bowl - but unlike some of the similar brush designs we tested, every surface can be cleaned here. Brushes and cans cost $16, a premium price for at least three color choices.
