Closure of bathrooms

Block air leakage with windshield.   Even the most advanced, energy-saving heating and cooling systems don't make you comfortable when air slides through cracks around doors and windows. Air leakage makes your HVAC work more difficult to keep your home comfortable. A simple remedy? Cover the draft with a weatherstrip. Bronze weather conditions are good for windows. It lasted for decades, 17 feet and only 16 RMB. The cost of EPDM rubber is low and lasts for at least 10 years. Self adhesive plastic weatherproof stripes have the same price and are easy to install, but they don't last long. Adhesives supported foam and felt are good choices for door sealing. The windbreak stripe has many uses; if it's loose, keep it in place with staple food. Use programmable thermostat to adjust energy. It's comfortable, but why spend money to keep your house at perfect temperature when you're not even enjoying it at home? Programmable thermostat allows you to set various temperatures at different times. Easy setup can save you up to 180 RMB per year.   You can install your own basic programmable thermostat in less than an hour. You can spend hundreds of RMB, but you will find that the basic model with LED touch screen is 80 RMB.   Use a rain bucket to absorb free water.   In summer, it costs about 150 RMB a month to irrigate 100 feet of lawn. So when water falls freely from the sky, why not keep it? Rain buckets collect rainwater on the roof - an average size of a drop on a roof is equal to 500 kilograms of water. In summer, the rain bucket is reduced by an average of 35 yuan per month; plus, you can save about 1300 Jin of water every year.   The cost of a commercial barrel is as low as 50 RMB, or you can reduce it.

Bathroom - green renovation

Choose green materials   A green bathroom renovation doesn't need a stingy style. With unlimited colors and patterns, classic ceramic tiles are a green choice for maintenance, durability and low toxicity effects. Some tiles are highly recycled; recycled glass blocks are a viable way to do the right ecological things. Not buying new things can also be good green ideas. Consider replenishing your old bathtub or sink. Use professionals to get the best results. It's expected to pay $500 a barrel and $300 for a sink. You will save on installation costs.   LED lighting now produces satisfactory lighting quality in lamps and lanterns. It can only consume 2 to 15 watts, with less heat dissipation and a service life of 15-20 years. They cost three times as much as conventional fixtures, but use very little electricity and the payback can be as short as a year.   Paints and vinyl coverings often contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that threaten indoor air quality. Looking for green seal certified building materials. Green seal is a non-profit, independent organization that certifies that it is an environmentally friendly product. You can find low VOC options in paint and adhesives at your local home center. Most of our landfills (estimated from 22% to 40%) come from construction waste. Any steps to reduce landfills may reduce the chance of groundwater contamination, odour and poor conditions of local landfills and, in some cases, high transport waste elsewhere. Most of the debris torn from the renovation is incurable, but old toilets, sinks, lamps, medicine cabinets and wash basins can be donated to organizations like habitat restore. In fact, it may be that someone is looking for their own green transformation.

Bathroom - use water

Thinking about greening your bathroom means thinking about how to use water in terms of consumption and energy. According to the American Water Industry Association, your humble toilet is the hottest user in your house, accounting for 27% of your consumption. This fact has inspired conservation programs, such as placing toilet tanks in toilets to reduce flushing capacity, and low flow toilets that often do not flush.   A more successful approach is a double flush toilet. It has two flush buttons, one for light work and one for heavy duty. For a long time, the price of double flush toilet is between 250RMB and 400RMB in the United States, which is in line with the high-quality conventional toilet. Double flush toilets can save 17000 kg of water per year - about 50 RMB in water charges. If you want to keep your old toilet (a very green decision), you can retrofit it with a dual flush machine for only 70 RMB.   The shower is another sailor. Showers use 16% to 20% of household water, most of which are heated. The flow rate of a typical sprinkler is 2.5kg/min. With a low flow head of 1.5 to 2kg per minute, it still provides enough cleaning capacity and greatly saves water consumption. (if you cherish a truly powerful hot water explosion, consider a full flow shower nozzle and lever, so that you close it while you bubble.)   In addition to saving water, you should also carefully observe how the water is heated. Next to the kitchen, the bathroom is the most intensive energy user in your home, and most of it goes to the nice hot shower and bathtub. Curbing wasted energy can be as simple as adding an insulating blanket to a tank heater (reducing energy consumption by 4% to 9%), and isolating all accessible hot water pipes. In addition, most water heaters are set to 140 degrees; you can reduce the water heater temperature setting to 120 degrees, saving up to 60 RMB per year in energy costs.   If your old water heater is nearing the end of its 15 year life cycle and you are considering investing in a new water heater, you can save some considerable energy savings. One smart option is a condensing water heater. Using a technology similar to an efficient furnace, the condensing heater puts almost all possible BTUs into the water rather than into the flue. At present, the cost of a 50kg gas turbine is 1700rmb (compared with 380RMB for standard tank heater). It is expected that the price will drop with the increase of demand. The installation cost is about 400 RMB, slightly higher than the standard unit. These higher costs are offset by a tax credit of 300 RMB and annual fuel savings estimated by EPA of more than 100 RMB.   Tank less water heaters only heat water when needed to avoid heat loss in conventional tanks. The cost of a unit is about 2000 RMB, and your annual energy saving will be 70 RMB per year. Please note that these units require some habits; a cold spell is expected before the hot kick.
